Planbet Sports Review
Just a few years ago, “crypto casinos” (aka gambling sites, including bookmakers, which only accept crypto) were quite common in the online betting world. However, as time has passed and crypto has stopped being a selling point in and of itself, their luster has somewhat faded. Today, Bitcoin and its ilk are still commonly accepted online, but it’s very rare to find a site that ONLY accepts them. Well, Planbet has decided to go against the grain by keeping up the tradition of old crypto casinos alive! The question is, did it do a great job?
Unfortunately, the answer is no – at least when we look at its sports betting section, which is beyond disappointing. We’ve reviewed very few sites with a scanter selection of both matches and sports in general, and it absolutely doesn’t help that the interface is so bad that you’d have a tough time finding even the few matches that are present. Instead of seeing all of the matches together in a convenient menu (like, oh, every single betting site under the sun), you’ll have to choose between “Bet on Your National Team” (which shows smaller matches by sport) and “Bet on Big Tournaments” (which only has, well, big tournaments). Why not have them together? What’s the point of this separation?!
Football Betting
Football is the most popular sport in modern gambling, to the point where even the most barebones of betting sites, the ones where sports betting is the afterthought of an afterthought, will present you with hundreds of different matches. Planbet will give you… dozens. At least, that’s how it seems on the surface, since the site’s terrible interface makes it impossible to see all of its available matches together. The “Bet on Your National Team” tab, though, clearly shows only a handful of different matches.
Even if we’re being extremely generous and assuming that it’s this way because our national team just doesn’t have a lot of games, there is no reason why we shouldn’t be able to easily view all matches instead of going country by country. And even if there was, we doubt it’d contain more than a hundred of them, tops – for comparison, most betting sites will give you well over a thousand. The “Bet on Big Tournaments” tab does a little bit better, but even then, it’s got a stark shortage of betting markets that’s bound to alienate most football fans.
Ice Hockey Betting
If you thought that the football betting was bad, you ain’t seen nothing yet – the rest of the sports available at Planbet (which, to be blunt, are a small handful of the sports you’d find at most bookies) will have even less matches. Many of them aren’t even available in the “Bet on Big Tournaments” tabs, which seems to be reserved exclusively for football so far. This means that even though ice hockey seems to have a decent amount of matches (well, by Planbet’s standards – it’s still just a few dozen at most), practically none of the big leagues and international events are represented.
And keep in mind, ice hockey is one of the better-represented sports on the platform. Others, like boxing or UFC, barely have any matches at all regardless of which country you’re from. A lot of these issues can be traced back directly to Planbet’s poor interface, but putting that aside, there’s no excuse for so many sports having so few matches! What are you even supposed to bet on?!
Esports Betting
As mentioned several times above, one of the biggest issues plaguing Planbet stems from its absolutely atrocious user interface in the sports section which artificially separates matches by country and popularity, making finding the exact game you want to bet on really difficult for no reason. So imagine our surprise when we saw that esports actually have their own section, completely independent of the regular sports betting! At long last, we won’t be hindered by poor UI!
Instead, we found ourselves hindered by the other issue plaguing Planbet’s offerings: an extremely low amount of available matches. Care to take a guess how many esports the site has, and how many matches are playing in each one? Whatever your guess was, it was probably too high: this sportsbook offers a mere 5 games (Counter-Strike, Dota 2, League of Legends, Call of Duty, and Mobile Legends), and most of those have only one or two matches available. Frankly, what’s even the point of having the esports section if its offerings will be so scant?
Live Betting
The good news here is that the live betting section of Planbet is actually much better than its regular sportsbook. The bad news is that it’s still not particularly decent, and it still has a lot of holes in it. This time, at least you’ll get all of the betting events side by side rather than having to cycle through the events of different countries or leagues to get to the match that you want, which is already a massive improvement. However, the actual number of different live matches is very low, to the point where most of the sports available won’t even have any live events at all when you check the site at a random time.
What’s more, many features we’ve come to expect of such a section, like a live play-by-play, are also omitted, which just rubs salt on the wound. If you want to do the bare minimum of “placing a bet on an event that is currently in progress,” then sure, you can do precisely that – but without any of the bells and whistles that come attached to live betting sections at other casinos. So the question remains: why would you play at Planbet instead of at a competitor that has more options and perks?
Frequently Asked Questions
You can place bets on about 20 different sports here, though that number might change as sports seasons shift.
Yes, though they can be a tough to find. First, you’ll need to go to the esports section from the main menu at the top. After that, there is a toggle below that button which will display the viruals.
Unfortunately, not a lot. Although the matches found on the site’s “Bet on Big Tournaments” section will have quite a lot of different markets, most of them will primarily have things like “1×2” (winner) or “exact score”.
Yes – in fact, crypto is the only type of payment supported here?
Sadly, we would not recommend playing at Planbet if you want to avoid the risk of getting scammed. While we aren’t saying for certain that the site is fraudulent, the fact that it only takes crypto and has an unverified license raises considerable doubt about its legitimacy.

Yeah, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that I thought Planbet’s sports section is a mess and a half – but not necessarily for the reasons you may think. Earlier in my review, I lambasted the fact that there just don’t seem to be a lot of matches or a lot of sports, which I still stand by because… that was my objective experience. However, during my research, I came upon a lot of people who had the opposite experience, claiming that there are thousands of matches. So, what happened? I’m not entirely sure, but I think my impressions are, at least in part, due to technical issues. I feel like Planbet’s honestly terrible UI, combined with glitches and things not working as they should, prevented me from seeing much of what should have been there. Whether that makes up for the site’s shortcomings or exacerbates them is up to you.
