NeoSpin Sports Review

NeoSpin is a rare example of a website that once only contained a casino section – as you can plainly see from its name. However, a few years into its lifespan, a sports betting section was added in what is undoubtedly an attempt to attract an entirely new gambling demographic. But us punters can be picky, and we require a lot more than a few basic sports betting markets to be impressed! The question is, does NeoSpin manage to provide us with that?

Well… the answer depends on who you are and what you’re looking for. It’s immediately clear that the focus of NeoSpin continues to be online casino, with sports betting being more of an afterthought. But although the sports section isn’t quite as good as those found at sites where it’s the main focus, it’s still decent enough, offering a few dozen different sports, alongside special bets and esports. The main issue is that most sports that aren’t football will only have a few dozen matches to choose from at a time, which is significantly lower compared to the hundreds that you could find elsewhere. Perfectly acceptable for people who mostly spin slots and bet on the side, but maybe not a good fit for career punters.

Football Betting

Football is the primary market of any sports betting site, to the point where if this one section isn’t good, chances are the entire brand will sink. And although NeoSpin’s football betting (much like its sportsbook as a whole) isn’t quite as good as what you’d find elsewhere, it’s still very decent, with around 800 to 900 different matches to wager on depending on when you’re looking and what seasons and events are playing.

Naturally, the main appeal are the big international leagues, like UEFA Europa, but we were surprised by just how many domestic championships we were able to find hidden within NeoSpin’s subcategories. We came across the big tourneys like Bundesliga, obviously, but there were also many smaller leagues from various countries, such as Liga Portugal and Albania’s Kategoria Superiore. Again: the amount isn’t nearly what you’d find at bigger sports betting brands, but it’s more than acceptable if you want to just put down a bet for a big match you’re excited about. Overall, this section left a positive impression on us!

Basketball Betting

Although football is always the most popular sport at any online bookmaker, the second place tends to be contested between a number of different sports. Even here, basketball had only slightly more matches compared to ice hockey – but it did, in fact, have more matches (about 250 as of the time of writing), so that’s what we’re looking at! As you can imagine, about a third of those matches are from the US, which, between the NBA and the NCAA, continues to be a global leader when it comes to this particular game.

Outside that market, you’ll mostly find matches from a handful of other nations, like France, Spain, and Turkey – with a specific focus on international tourneys like Euroleague. These matches, however, have clearly not received as much focus as their American counterparts, as they are not only significantly fewer, but also have way less betting markets. Ultimately, whether you find NeoSpin’s basketball offerings acceptable will depend on whether you’d like to wager on American basketball or something else.

Esports Betting

At first glance, it may seem like NeoSpin’s esports betting section is quite extraordinary – after all, it has its own separate page, with its own categories for different games (rather than just being a category on the main sports page). That must mean it’s overflowing with content, right? Well… not so much. Like everything else about this site’s sportsbook, it’s neither terrible nor extraordinary. In total, you’ll be allowed to wager on about 10 different games, and nearly all of them will just have a few matches available for them.

These games include most of the big hitters, such as Call of Duty, Counter-Strike and Dota 2, though they exclude a lot of popular options like Overwatch, Rocket League and Clash of Clans, as well as any fighting games like Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat. The biggest games here are League of Legends, Counter-Strike and Dota, which have at least two dozen matches each as of the time of writing, but the rest of the titles all had 10 or less – not nearly enough. We know we’ve said this a lot during our review, but this section will only work for people who want to place casual bets, and will not be enough for dedicated esports fans.

Live Betting

Live betting is one of the most exciting and interesting things you can do at an online sportsbook – after all, who wouldn’t want to experience the thrill of betting on a game that is already in progress, watching their odds go up and down within a matter of seconds? At this rate, it’s perfectly reasonable to expect us to say something like “this section is nothing special and is just acceptable,” but surprisingly, it’s one of the strongest parts of NeoSpin’s repertoire.

Once you open it up, you’ll immediately find a list of all in-play bets available, with the “hottest” (aka the most high-profile matches across sports) being displayed at the top for easier access. You can then further narrow down the list by sport or league so that you can find the precise match you’d like to monitor and wager on extremely easily. What’s more, stuck to the right-side of the screen (at least on desktop – on mobile it’s a toggle) is a fantastic play-by-play and statistics screen that can make deciding what to wager on a breeze.
