Caspero Sports Review
There are some online bookmakers that are also online casinos on the side. There are also some online casinos that also accept sports betting as a fun little side activity. Unfortunately for us, Caspero very much belongs to the latter category, since its sportsbook has clearly taken a backseat to slot games and live casino titles. Of course, that doesn’t mean that what IS available here is bad – it’s just not particularly exciting, nor provide the amount of diversity that you’d find at many other bookies.
You can find all the big sports here at Caspero, such as football, basketball, esports, and rugby, alongside a bunch of smaller ones like futsal and cycling. However, many betting options will also be missing, some of which quite popular like MMA and Formula 1. As far as we can tell, there also isn’t any way you can place special bets, like on TV shows or politics. This, combined with an overall lack of betting markets (especially for less popular sports) might make Caspero a less desirable option for veteran punters, yet won’t impact the experience of newbies that much.
Football Betting
Football is king, and anyone who denies that is clearly a fool! Any sportsbook will be scrambling to feature it at the most prominent position, and Caspero is no exception, given the fact that you’ll gain access to it literally as soon as you open up the general sports betting section. Right there, you’ll find a bunch of big matches (most of them upcoming) for the major leagues like Bundesliga and UEFA. If you’re the type of player who is primarily interested in wagering on those, you’re all set.
However, things aren’t looking so hot when you start to examine the smaller, more national-level leagues. You’ll find hundreds of matches, sure, but there will also be plenty of countries that will be missing entirely from the selection, and the ones that are there will only offer you matches at the highest level. In those national leagues, the amount of betting markets will also drop spectacularly, giving you only access to the most basic ones like 1×2, exact score, or Asian handicap.
Ice Hockey Betting
While football always has the top spot (remember – football is king), Caspero has a lot of runner-ups to that crown. Tennis, basketball, table tennis, and volleyball all had a lot of matches, but as of the time of writing, it was ice hockey that held the firm #2 spot with a little under 200 games available to wager on. It’s pretty rare to find a bookmaker that will place such an emphasis on ice hockey, so this is one of the very few objective advantages that Caspero has over its competition.
It shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone interested in the sport that NHL and AFL games account for the overwhelming majority of available matches. Although from time to time you might be able to find games from countries outside the US (like Canada), those are extremely rare and typically seasonal. Meanwhile, the US market will often give you off-season or college-level games, which is pretty cool. No pun intended!
Esports Betting
As impressive as the ice hockey section was, we’re afraid to say that the esports one is a pretty big disappointment. This will certainly turn some players off who primarily bet on these types of games, but unfortunately, you won’t find too many of those around here. The selection is pretty much limited to Counter-Strie, Call of Duty, League of Legends, and Dota 2. That’s all there is – many popular games (like League of Legends or Overwatch for example) are completely absent.
Furthermore, even the titles that are here will have a very limited amount of betting markets available. Nearly every different match we examined only had the option to bet on the winner, which seems like such a waste for something as versatile as esports! How about voting on the map winner, or in the case of MOBAs, who’ll kill a monster first? Sure, some matches have that, but the overwhelming majority don’t (at least as far as we can see). What a waste!
Live Betting
No sports betting section would be complete without the ability to place wagers on games that are still in progress, and at Caspero, that’s thankfully very easy! By default, the sportsbook will show you the “Popular Bets” section which will show you, well, the most popular upcoming matches, typically from major football leagues. You can then select the tab right next to it, called “In Play,” to access all games currently being played.
From that point on, navigating the in-play matches is pretty much exactly the same as the upcoming ones. You can filter them out by sport, sometimes by league or country, and then narrow down your search from there. One interesting (and very cool) thing is that you can easily see just how long a match has left before it ends, which means that if you want to wager on games that are just starting, you can do that at a glance.
Frequently Asked Questions
You’ll be able to place wagers on about 25 different sports here.
No, virtuals aren’t available. You can only bet on esports, but obviously that’s not the same thing.
This will change depending on which sports and leagues you want to bet on. For football, if you’re betting on UEFA or Premier League matches, you’ll be able to wager on whatever you want, sometimes even down to each player’s performance. If you’re going for smaller leagues, you might only have access to the big markets like Asian handicap. Some sports don’t have any markets at all besides 1×2.
Indeed – eight different cryptos are currently supported here, including pretty much all of the big ones (like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether, etc).
Yes, Caspero is perfectly safe and legitimate. In fact, you can look up its license yourself through Anjouan’s license registry or simply by selecting the shield icon in the footer of the site. In my opinion, Caspero is absolutely perfect for players who are a little newer to the world of sports betting. If you’ve never had that experience, or if you’re someone who has only done it in person, on paper, then this is a pretty decent place to start. And if you’re someone who is also really interested in online casino, then Caspero is practically perfect! It’s clear that slots, blackjack, and roulette are the true passions of whoever crafted this site, while placing bets on football, tennis, and ice hockey was just something that was made to provide additional value. It was never meant to be a big focus, and should be treated as such. However, I think that when you examine the site for what it is rather than what I want it to be, it’s hard not to see its many positive qualities – doubly so considering its decent sports bonuses!
