LamaBet Sports Review
Everyone loves lamas! They’re cute, soft, fluffy, and… really good at sports? Yeah, we aren’t exactly sure why this particular bookie has chosen lamas as its mascot, but hey, props to them that they actually picked something different from the usual sports terms or numbers that we see way too often! And besides, the name doesn’t really matter, what matters is the sports that are offered here and the amount of betting markets you’d get to enjoy as a player! So, how does LamaBet fare in that department?
Well… it really depends on what you’re looking for. The way LamaBet goes about things is that it will offer a relatively small amount of matches for each sport (usually less than 100), but on the flipside, it will have a whole bunch of different sports to choose from that are rarely found at other bookies. So, if you’re the kind of player who wants to bet on very specific matches (especially if they’re more obscure), then this won’t be the site for you. On the other hand, if you love the idea of placing bets on something like lacross, softball, or darts, then yeah, you’ll find everything you need here and then some!
Football Betting
Even with its strange structure, LamaBet has continued to prioritize football betting, to the point where you can find more than 700 different matches at any given point. This isn’t quite as much as most other bookmakers will provide (over 1,000 is a much more common number), but given the fact that we’ve seen plenty of bookies that have far less, we can’t exactly say there isn’t any choice here. Doubly so when all of the major leagues from around the world are still represented fairly well as far as we could tell.
But what about the betting markets? Well, the verdict once again is that LamaBet handles things “okay”. You can find most of the big betting markets repreesented here, such as goals/totals, handicaps, both teams to score, halftime/fulltime, and double chance, but the less commonly found markets (like, for example, placing bets on individual players), are usually absent from anything but the biggest matches. This won’t affect the majority of players, but it’s definitely something that sports betting veterans are bound to notice and be annoyed by.
Table Tennis Betting
LamaBet offers its players a few alternatives to football among its top sports – tennis, basketball, volleyball, all the standard stuff that you would expect to find at a bookie. However, when you actually look at the amount of matches available for all sports, there is one in particular that rather handily beats down every single one of the big, promoted sports except for football: table tennis. Surprising, isn’t it? We at BettingSites.CC have certainly never encountered a bookie before who had more maches for table tennis than for basketball and volleyball combined, yet here we are!
Unfortunately, despite how big the number of matches for table tennis is, the amount of available betting markets is quite low and disappointing. You’ll mostly be able to wager on score, total points (as well as total sets), as well as a few handicaps like sets handicap and 1 set points handicap. Furthermore, some of the smaller matches will have even less than that, pretty much only letting you bet on the winner and score. It’s not a deal breaker or anything, but it is a little disappointing that LamaBet had the chance to really build somethin special for table tennis fans and then didn’t.
Esports Betting
While some players don’t even consider esports to be ‘real’ sports, the fact of the matter remains that they’re more popular than they’ve ever been – and are a huge reason why online bookmakers have become as successful as they are! As such, it’s important for bookies to offer a wide variety of different esports, as well as a convenient way for players to place wagers on them. And LamaBet… only half-succeeds at that endeavor.
To start off with the positives, the site really does offer a plethora of different esports you can bet on – not just the big ones like Dota 2 and Counter-Strike, but also games like Rocket League, Mobile Legends, and StarCraft 2 – titles that may not be quite as popular as the big boys, but still have a dedicated following. Unfortunately, making your way to them is hardly convenient, as there isn’t one dedicated esports category. Instead, there are multiple interspersed with the traditional sports, and many of them won’t even represent the game with its original name – for example, NBA2K is called “eBasketball”, which can be incredibly confusing.
Live Betting
If esports are one of the main reasons why someone would prefer to play at an online bookmaker over a land-based one, then live betting is certainly the other! After all, being able to place bets on games that are currently being played was something that sounded like science fiction just a few years ago, and yet now has provided gamblers with new opportunities for fun and exciting bets – opportunities that LamaBet takes full advantage of!
For starters, the in-progress matches will always be at the very top of each sports page, which means that you’ll always see them first even if you’re not explicitly looking for them. But if you just want to see the live matches without being distracted by the in-progress ones at all, no worries, you can simply go to the In-Play section and get a full list of them right away! It’s honestly a very intuitive and simple to use system that we really liked!
Frequently Asked Questions

No. As far as we can tell, virtual sports are not available at LamaBet – but you can still place bets on a wide variety of esports.
The availability of betting markets will depend solely on the games you’re interested in wagering on. For example, in football betting, games from really popular leagues like Premier will have a ton of obscure betting markets like exact score and over/under, but games from smaller leagues might only have totals and 1×2.

Overall, my impressions of LamaBet’s sports betting page is mixed, and it feels like there were just as many things about it that I liked as there were things that annoyed me. For starters, I loved just how many different sports there were, but wasn’t particularly crazy about the limited amount of matches and betting markets available. Similarly, the user interface felt very messy, and it took me a little bit to actually learn how to navigate it, it wasn’t nearly as intuitive as it has been on other sites I’ve visited. I’m sure that there are some people who will fall in love with LamaBet, but I wasn’t one of them, sadly.
