NationalBet is Restricted

Although NationalBet’s sports betting section had a lot of really good sides (such as its vast array of football bets and overall big number of available sports), I was ultimately very disappointed by it. It’s not the worst betting site in the world, but it feels like its problems definitely place it below many of its competitors. For example, the lack of an esports section is a huge hole that’s filled very well by most other sportsbooks, and its arguably most unique feature (special/political wagers) is poorly thought out and has some very weird odds and options. All in all, I wouldn’t recommend playing here. There’s nothing that NationalBet does better than its peers, and quite a few things which it does worse.

NationalBet Sports Review

NationalBet sports betting reviewNothing says “National Bet” quite like being available in over 140 countries – or would that be considered more of an “International Bet”? Bad joking aside, this brand new bookmaker’s wide availability has already started making huge waves in the online gambling world, which is how it came to our attention. As such, we decided to thoroughly investigate it, see what it has to offer, and ultimately, give you as much information as we can so you can come up with your own conclusions on whether you wish to participate in it or not.

Starting off, we’re focusing on – what else – the sports betting section! And NationalBet is doing… mostly pretty well on that front. Its selection of football matches is really good, and the rest of them are acceptable. However, there’s a huge hole in this site’s repertoire: namely, the ability to place wagers on esports. Titles like Dota, Counter-Strike and Overwatch are extremely popular in both the competitive gaming world and that of online gambling, so this absence is entirely inexcusable. When we brought this up, the customer support agent we spoke with assured us that they’ll be added eventually, but we can’t review the site as it might be in the future, only how it is when we tested it.

Football Betting

Football is by far the biggest focus of NationalBet – which shouldn’t exactly come as a surprise, given that it’s the focus of every single sportsbook ever made. Here, however, it’s particularly placed in the spotlight, to the point where, upon opening up the sports betting section, you’ll be greeted with all of the football leagues before you even get a glimpse of every other sport available here.

To be fair, there’s a reason for NationalBet to feel proud of its football selection, given just how many different championships it offers. There’s the big ones, like UEFA and the English Premier League, but also much smaller ones like the Europa League Qualifiers and Copa Libertadores. And again, that’s just what you’d find on the main sports page! Going further into the football betting page, you’ll find a lot more country-specific matches from smaller leagues. It’s nothing you won’t find at most other bookies, but it’s very welcome nonetheless!

Tennis Betting

Most online bookmakers will clearly list the number of available matches in their sports menu. This number, of course, changes constantly – games that are in season will have far more matches than games that don’t have any major championships. Even so, these numbers can give you a good idea of what the sportsbook prioritizes and whether you should participate in it at all. As such, it’s very unfortunate that these numbers are entirely missing from NationalBet, leaving us to wonder what its focus is as a site, besides on football.

NationalBet tennis betting

Looking around, we were able to determine that tennis seems to have the most presence beyond football – but even so, that presence amounts to a little over a hundred different matches, some of which quite far off in time. That’s not to say that its tennis offerings in particular are bad, as many leagues (like ATP and WTA) are still available, but overall, it’s a symptom of a much bigger problem. NationalBet as a site seems to have heavily prioritized football betting to the harm of pretty much anything else. And that’s super disappointing news for more well-rounded gamblers who don’t just want to spend 24 hours a day obsessing over football matches.

Special/Politics Betting

As previously mentioned, NationalBet doesn’t feature any esports – which is what we typically cover in this section. Instead, we’ll focus on something else we feel is a little more unique: special betting. Admittedly, NationalBet isn’t the only site that offers such a feature, but there aren’t too many that do, which is why we felt it was important to talk about them here. Doubly so because the way NationalBet has employed them is wild!

You see, while voting on politics (for example, on election results) isn’t exactly uncommon, NationalBet will let you bet on damn near anyone here. Have you had a premonition of how, in a crazy unexpected twist of fate, Oprah Winfrey wins the 2024 Presidential Election? Well, National Bet is the place to capitalize on that and walk out with odds that are a whopping 301-to-1. And speaking of the election, it appears that the two candidates that actually won the nomination, Harris and Trump, are placed at exactly equal odds, which means these odds aren’t influenced by polls and predictions. Which could, in turn, give a savvy gambler an extremely big edge.

Live Betting

Last, but not least, we reach the staple of online sports punting – live betting! Indeed, the ability to place bets on games before they’re even finished playing is such an underrated feature, and luckily, one that NationalBet embraces wholly! At the push of a button, you can filter out any games besides the ones currently being played, and then take your pick! This “Live” button (located in the top-left corner) works sitewide, which means that it will enable to you to filter out all sports and not just the one you’re currently viewing.

Beyond that, if you’ve ever seen a live sports section at any other bookie, then you should know precisely what’s coming. You’ll have a variety of betting markets for each match with shifting odds based on the progress of the game (updated automatically in real time, which means you need to be very quick when placing bets). For football, you’ll also find a live scoreboard which displays the location of the ball on the field in real time, but that’s only useful if you don’t have more exciting means through which to watch the match.

Frequently Asked Questions

NationalBet will let you place bets on a little under 40 different sports, as of the time of writing. According to a representative, this number will increase eventually as esports are added.

Yes, it is – you can access virtuals via the menu at the very top of the site, the button for it is in between “Live Betting” and “Promotions”.

When it comes to football, the diversity of betting markets is very high – 1×2, exact score, player stats, Asian handicap, and so on. However, when it comes to other sports, the variety can vary greatly, and some will only let you bet on the winner.

Yes, NationalBet greatly emphasizes crypto over traditional currencies, and will let you wager with quite a lot of them.

Ultimately, everyone should make their own choice when it comes to whether they wish to trust NationalBet (or any other sportsbook). Although there are many red flags surrounding this particular site, that doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll be scammed. It just means there’s a risk that is higher than at more legitimate establishments.
