BM Bet: Is it legit?
How legit, if at all, a website for online betting is, depends on many factors, but the main two are its licensing and its ownership. If a site doesn’t disclose its owner, nor does it state what license it has, then it’s a 99,99% illegitimate establishment. In case the owner is disclosed, the license is mentioned, but there are no further details on either, the situation is very likely the same, simply disguised a bit better. If the owner is stated, the license is also there, but upon deeper examination, it turns out to be expired, then you might be in a legitimate casino that is currently undergoing some changes or waiting for its license to be renewed. There are many more possible combinations, but these are the most dangerous ones out there.
Then, there are different types of licenses – the best ones with the highest standards for customer safety are UKGC and MGA, next up are Curacao licenses with looser measures but many recent improvements, and then come the least effective ones, being Costa Rica and PAGCOR – these are country-specific and have no international value in terms of providing any player with the necessary support in case of a dispute.
With BM Bet, things don’t look too promising – they are owned by FGS SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS S.R.L., which might be an operator with a good amount of successful casinos, but it’s still far from the credibility of other, bigger businesses with better track records. The main issue, however, comes from the site’s license being one from Costa Rica. This country has no actual gaming association issuing permits for international use, so stating that the main source of security for players on your site comes from a place of iffy standing, is the opposite of appealing.
The only redeeming factor at BM Bet comes in the form of a thoroughly and transparently written T&C section with no omissions of key information. This reassures us a bit when it comes to the chances of the site turning out to be less than trustworthy – usually, casinos with well-thought-out T&Cs are far from the worst ones. All in all, we can’t call BM Bet an entirely legit casino, but it seems okay for a low-stakes stay.
The Short Answer: Is BM Bet Legit?
BM Bet’s licensing and ownership information doesn’t instill the necessary level of security reassurance we need to proclaim that the site is entirely legit. It seems to have taken some steps towards customer accommodation when it comes to legality, however, they aren’t what we’re looking for, especially when international players and their funds are at stake. It’s a place where you should exercise caution and sound judgment, but it can be enjoyed as a high-risk adventure in controlled amounts if that’s your thing.
Why Do We Think That?
- Costa Rica License: Costa Rica doesn’t have the authority to issue international gambling permits accepted by worldwide safety standards, so it’s far from the best option.
- Ownership disclosed: The site does disclose the owner of the business, which is a step in the right direction, however, it’s not an operator with an extensive track record per se, so it doesn’t serve as a redeeming factor.
- Owner-company experience: As briefly mentioned, the company behind BM Bet could use more experience and success to back up its projects in the face of a highly alerting Costa Rica license which needs to be balanced out by high levels of credibility overall.
- Highly detailed Terms and Conditions: The best part of this check was finding out that the site’s terms and conditions are descriptive and well-written enough to contribute at least some credibility points to the whole evaluation.
