Chief among them are the payment methods available and the verification process you’ll need to go through in order to withdraw any winnings. While these things aren’t quite as flashy or, let’s face it, interesting as the betting options or bonuses, they’re still incredibly important to know about when forming a comprehensive opinion about a bookmaker!

Payment Methods Available at BetFree

As we already mentioned earlier in our review, BetFree is a crypto site, meaning that you won’t be able to make a deposit here with anything other than cryptocurrency. And while some crypto bookmakers will still let you deposit via your card by letting you buy crypto from a partner (or directly through their own service), this option isn’t available at BetFree. If you wish to play here, you need to have already created your own e-wallet that can send and receive transactions. This site is for crypto enthusiasts, not those expressing a more casual interest.

Paradoxically, the actual currencies available here are extremely basic. When we think of a crypto site created for enthusiasts, we would imagine a whole bunch of cryptos that barely anyone has ever heard of, dozens upon dozens of supported currencies to ensure that anyone who likes crypto can deposit their way. That’s not quite the case here, as you’ll only have access to 8 different coins, all of which very popular: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether, etc. On one hand, that doesn’t seem like a huge deal, since most players will use those to deposit anyway, but on the other, we can’t help but wonder why you would restrict your audience to hardcore crypto fans and then not cater to them in full.

Verifications have always been a pretty funny thing when it comes to crypto sites. Under normal circumstances, online bookmakers are required to verify the identity of all of their players in order to comply with regulations set up by various payment processors (like Visa or Neteller), who, in turn, are making sure that the law is being followed. But, as you probably know, crypto coins aren’t regulated by some institution or bank: that’s the whole point of them!

As such, a casino or bookie that doesn’t work with financial companies would not be penalized in any way by simply refusing to verify its players… which, of course, is a terrible idea. But how does that work? Well, according to said terms of service, you’ll need to provide a number of different documents to the staff in order to prove your identity. These will include a proof of ID (like your ID card, passport, or driver’s license), as well as a proof of address (like a utility bill from the last 3 months). The terms also make mention of “verifying a payment method”, but since only crypto deposits are accepted and those can’t be verified, that’s probably an oversight.
