BetFree Is it Legit?
BetFree: Is it legit?
There’s nothing shameful about wanting to be on the careful side when choosing your next online bookmaker. Admittedly, things aren’t quite as dire as some people are trying to make them sound (we’ve heard many claim that all bookies are scams, which is very misinformed), but that doesn’t mean there aren’t a lot of shady sites out there that are desperately trying to part newbies from their hard-earned cash without offering much in return.
If you share this concern with us, fret not! We always take our readers’ safety online extremely seriously, and so we’ve spared no effort in thoroughly researching the legitimacy of any bookmaker we review! Of course, we’re only human, so it’s possible our opinion isn’t correct. But that’s why you should take it as just that (an opinion, albeit an expert one) and not a fact written in blood within an ancient book of metaphysical law.
With BetFree, as well as any other gambling site, your judgment is what matters most, and your inner voice is the one you should listen to, not necessarily ours or anyone else’s. We’re just here to give you a few points to consider!
The Short Answer: Is BetFree Legit?
After a thorough investigation, we have determined that playing at BetFree carries a significant risk to players.
Why Do We Think That?
- Unresponsive Support – We’ll go over this a bit more when we discuss BetFree’s support near the end of the review, but to make a long story short, we couldn’t get a response from them no matter how we tried to reach out. Neither live chat nor e-mail yielded any response, which is a huge problem. Granted, it’s possible that the issue is with us – maybe support only replies to players with an active account who have already made a deposit or two. But that approach (if that’s what’s happening at all) carries with it a whole slew of problems.
- Unclear Terms & Conditions – The cashback bonus’ terms and conditions state pretty clearly that if you deposit via crypto, then you won’t be eligible to receive this bonus. But here’s the thing: BetFree is a crypto site! You literally can not deposit via fiat currency if you tried! So, what does that mean? Is it just an accident? An oversight? Or a deliberate attempt to keep people from claiming bonuses that were promised to them? We found several such contradictions in the terms of service, which made us wonder what BetFree’s owners are even thinking.
- Offshore License – BetFree has a Curacao license – an offshore license that is considered very weak, as it won’t reimburse players should they get scammed. Under normal circumstances, this wouldn’t be a huge deal, and we’ve given plenty of Curacao-licensed bookies a pass because you typically have other means of getting your money back. That’s not the case here at BetFree – crypto is non-refundable, and all transactions are finals. Even the fraudulent ones, presumably.
- Unproven Site & Owner – As of the writing of this review, BetFree is a brand new online bookie – less than a month old, actually (aren’t we ahead of the curve?) This means that it hasn’t been tested by players, and we weren’t able to find any user reviews that can confirm its legitimacy through actual experience. On top of that, its owner, Rozert N.V., is a brand new company without any kind of online presence, nor any other sites under its belt. This means that, if a lot of players get scammed by BetFree, it would be very easy for Rozert and its owners to simply disappear without a trace and start up again with a new name, something that unfortunately does happen in the gambling industry.
