BetFree Sports Review
We at BettingSites.CC have reviewed quite a lot of betting sites that appeal to all sorts of tastes, but few have been quite as niche as BetFree! While this is primarily an online casino, it also technically allows players to bet… on esports only. On top of that, this is a crypto site that does not allow for any payment methods except for crypto coins to be used. Which means that, for you to even consider playing here, you’d need to be not just your average punter who likes football, but a crypto fan who is also really into esports.
Can that even sustain a sizeable audience? We can’t say for sure, given how new BetFree is, but what we can do is examine every nook and cranny, testing out its betting features and verifying whether it’s a site worth playing at! Ultimately, if you don’t fall into its very specific target demographic, we feel that BetFree won’t offer you much even if it’s the best site in the world. But if you’re looking for your next esports bookie, should BetFree be your choice?
Counter-Strike Betting
Normal bookmakers will typically emphasize placing bets on football, but since normal sports are not available here, Counter-Strike has claimed the top spot! As far as we can tell, despite the release of Counter-Strike 2 in 2023, BetFree still primarily relies on Global Offensive matches for its wagers. You’ll primarily find ESL League matches (including Challenger), but some smaller, independent championships from around the world are also available.
One thing we noticed when it comes to most bookmakers is that, in terms of esports, they rarely offer any betting markets whatsoever – most of the time you can only bet on the winner! But BetFree is exclusively relying on esports, so that sort of thing wasn’t going to fly. As a result, they’re offering one of the most impressive array of betting markets for esports we’ve ever seen – handicaps, correct score, round winner, map winner… It’s a legitimately great variety of options that, as far as we can tell, is available for even smaller-league matches!
League of Legends Betting
League of Legends and Dota 2 have long had a fierce rivalry, but at BetFree, the winner is clear, and LoL has way more matches and more betting markets to bet on than its fierce opponent! We’re sure that Dota 2 owners Valve must be wiping their tears with all the money they’re making off of Counter-Strike pro gaming. All joking aside, while Dota 2 does have a pretty impressive showing here (especially when it comes to live betting, which we’ll discuss a bit later), LoL simply blows it out of the water.
Some LoL matches have as many as 29 (!!!) different betting markets, including match winner, map winner, first blood, first Baron, first Inhibitor, 1st Dragon Type, whether the Clemtech or Cloud Dragons are slain, and, of course, handicaps. It is a spectacular especially, especially since, as we have already mentioned, most betting sites will only let you wager on the winner of a match, even if that match is an important one.
Valorant Betting
It’s obvious that Counter-Strike and LoL would have the #1 and #2 spots – that is the case at pretty much every bookmaker, even those who don’t specialize in esports. But what caught us off-guard a bit is that the bronze medal belongs to none other than Valorant, and not one of its more popular counterparts, like Overwatch or Rainbow Six Siege! Perhaps the creators of BetFree are Valorant fans, but even if they’re not, it’s undeniable just how many different matches are available to bet on for this game.
Like always, you can place bets on a wide variety of betting markets, including map winner, round winner, correct score, number of maps, and handicaps. Even the smallest leagues will still let you bet on more than just the winner, which, once again, gives BetFree a big heads up compared to most other bookmakers!
Live Betting
When you first open up the sports betting section, what you’ll find at the very top are the available live bets, divided in several subcategories based on game. This lets you view all of the in-progress games with just a few clicks, while also allowing you to browse upcoming matches from a separate menu. While there isn’t a way to view all in-progress games from a single screen (which would have been very welcome), it’s overall a still very convenient system.
In terms of the available betting market, they’re not too different from what you’d find in non-live matches. Perhaps most interesting here is the ability to place bets on map winners while the map is in progress, with the odds shifting depending on progress without affecting the ones set in place for the next map. With careful planning and observation, you could potentially use that to your advantage and get some pretty decent deals – for example, if 1 was projected to win Map 3, but 2 won Map 1 and is en route to win Map 2, you could take advantage of the enhanced odds to place a bet against 1 on Map 3 and enjoy a sizeable win.

While at first I was pretty skeptical about a site that only offers esports betting, I must admit that I was eventually won over. Don’t get me wrong: I definitely wouldn’t recommend signing up for BetFree if you aren’t already interested in esports and, to a considerable extent, in crypto and online casino games. The betting section is good, but not quite good enough to turn you into a believer if you weren’t already one. However, if you already fall into this very specific niche, you might be able to find some fun to be had here… as long as you can overlook the red flags that the site presents in other areas, like customer support and bonuses.
